Anna-Kay E. Brown is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Commercial Department. She was called to the bar in December 2017. Her practise is considerably wide in breath and includes: commercial, telecommunications, intellectual property, family and employment law.

After graduating from Campion College, Anna-Kay in May 2013 was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Political Science (concentration in human rights) from Macalester College in the United States, Minnesota. Thereafter, in September 2013 she matriculated into the University of the West Indies as a direct-entrant, where she completed her Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second-Class Honours) in two-years. She then went on to the Norman Manley Law School (“NMLS”) where she graduated with a Legal Education Certificate on the Principal’s Honour Roll and was awarded three (3) prizes namely: (i) the Keith Stanford Sobian Memorial Prize, awarded to students with outstanding overall academic performance, contribution to student activities and engagement of interest in the Law; (ii) the Michael March Memorial Prize(shared) for top performance in the law of remedies; and (iii) the Special Mooting Prize, for the International Jessup Mooting Competition.

While at the NMLS, at the 58th (2017) staging of the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup international law mooting competition in Washington DC Anna-Kay along with her team made history for Jamaica by placing 2nd in a field of over 640 law schools in more than 95 countries. In that competition, Anna-Kay Brown excelled as the researcher on the team, which received a number of prizes including the prize for the 2nd best- combined Applicant and Respondent Submissions.

Currently, Anna-Kay (i) is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and its Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, and Telecommunications Broadcasting & Technology sub-committees; (ii) tutors Constitutional Law at the University of Mona Law Faculty yearly from January -April; and (iii) is the President of the Rotaract Club of Downtown Kingston, a community service club.

Anna-Kay is passionate about everything she does and when she is not working hard on behalf of her clients, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, ministry, swimming, dancing, outreach, and reading.
